The house

Where he grew up

The brunt of all family jokes

The abuse, verbal not physical

Leaves a mark just the same

Often alone

With just his thoughts

An invisible kid

Depression crept in on this child

Taking no mercy

Leaving him hopeless

His thoughts grew disturbed

His family wouldn’t understand

Prank after prank they pulled

All the while Depression took root

Pulling him under

Dragging him down into the dismal abyss

To a new house, with a new brother, hoping to be a family

No, the jokes still there, leaving their mark

Now a social outcast, shunned for being himself

Tired, miserable, and rejected

He climbed back into that familiar abyss

Trapped in his mined he had no one

Or anything

He stayed locked in the abyss for ever searching for ever hoping for

It would not find him

It did not seek him out

With depression wrapped around him

He would remain there waiting to be
